We are considering using Bill Laredo of Laredo Construction for a brownstone renovation. Does anyone have any experiences with him?

As my wife and I were first looking for a contractor we came upon this very post. Bill Laredo was on our shortlist, but the lack of recommendations made us skittish. A couple months later we can tell you: Bill is top-notch. Throughout our project we found Bill (and his guys) to be incredibly thorough, forthright, with an incredible eye toward craft. In fact, we found him as detail-oriented about our place as we were. Though he normally works on higher-end, larger apartments than our own, at no point did we feel like our place was anything other than his highest priority. Now, to keep this balanced, I would say that his precision comes at a literal and figurative price. Being as detailed as he is he never rushed the job, which was fine with us as we would have rather done things right more than fast. And Bill does not come cheap. However, he was not our most expensive bid and he never went above his estimate on any of the jobs he undertook — and there were many. No real complaints. So if you’re here looking for information on him: we recommend the guy highly.

I don’t know Bill Laredo but if I were doing a brownstone renovation, I’d highly recommend the contractor who did my total gut renovation, Ferris Construction (917-584-7286). I’ve used them on more than one job. They do high quality work, are fairly priced and deliver what they promise. In fact, I have recommended them here before for both renovation and window installation. Andrew, the owner, is really good at advising you, he listens, and stays with you til the work’s done. are you doint interior or exterior renovation? all renovation, perfect are good for interior. j mos, malek, excellent, metro are good for exterior.
