mosaic tile installation
the installer working in my bathroom is having problems installing 1×1 mosaic tiles.
The problem is that they are mounted on a mesh. He explained that after installing them all aligned, once the mesh dries, the tiles drop and do not maintain the alignment. The result is that the tiles do not look ok.
Has anyone had this problem before? Any suggestion on how to do this job?
thanks

Keep in mind tiles adhered to mesh – and all tile – have natural variances from the get-go. It takes considerable vigilance to keep tile from sliding before the adhesive or thinset cures to the point that the tile will not move.

The mesh on that kind of tile will move because or the weight. I find it best to tack small nails in the mesh as you install so they don’t move while the tile adhesive sets.
