Decking Contractor for 70sq/ft terrace
I agree with “bobmarvin” a legitamate contractor will most likely cost an arm and a leg and if you are handy enough its is something that is easily done. I do not know much about engineered vs treated wood, but i did make my own 12′ X 10′ deck out of treated wood this summer. Its has lasted through our summer BBQ Parties and the winter and still looks great.

We have a small 70 sq/ft terrace at our condo in Williamsburg. The floor surface is waterproofed concrete, we’d like to add some wood decking – the kind that is modular with plastic spacers underneath. Does anyone know a good decking contractor? Also, any input about engineered vs real wood decking would be much appreciated.

I don’t think a contractor is needed–in fact I doubt that a contractor would touch a job this small. Laying modular wood decking with plastic spacers underneath should take about an hour and is either a DIY job, or something for a handyman. I laid Ikea PLATTA decking tiles on part of my garden (about 150 sq. ft.), over landscape cloth two years ago. . It’s still in pretty good shape and I anticipate getting a couple of more seasons out of it–possibly more. It would probably last far longer laid on a concrete deck.
