Cost of removing a dropped ceiling from a typical parlour floor & garden floor of a brownstone?
As long as there are no light fixtures it’s a low skill handyman demolition job. The cost for labor would be one day not including moving furniture. The other cost would be disposing of the ceiling tiles and the metal track. I would think that $300 to $400 would get the job done. This type of work is perfect for DIY minded individuals as the ceiling can be removed by hand. The only place the ceiling is connected is at the periphery screwed or nailed to the wall. Basically you remove all the tiles first and then the short cross tracks, then the longer tracks, if you bundle the metal track up I bet someone would take it for scrap no charge.
