Contractor Recommendation for a small job

We are looking to renovate our co-op apartment before we move in around mid-November. The work we are looking to do includes minor demolition (half wall and a short nib wall, kitchen & bath fixtures and floor finishes, wall tile) and construction is as follows: 1\. Building a small closet for a washer/dryer (gas!) which will need to be vented thru the roof (top floor so no issue there). 2\. Install New bath fixtures, wall & floor tile, wood trim. 3. Kitchen with new subfloor for rubber tile floor, installing assembled Ikea cabinets, new lighting 4\. Minor electrical work – switching out all outlets and switches with newer versions. 5\. Minor patching and painting the whole space. 6\. Floors need to be sanded, stained & refinished. Any recommentionations are greatly appreciated. Our budget is not huge so we would like someone who is good and affordable (doesn’t everyone?). Thanks!

we used a guy by the name of Errol Richards. He did our kitchen, bathroom reno, upgraded electrical through the rental property and today he got a tree out of that same rental property we have in bedstuy. He is very reasonably priced and I highly recommend him to anyone that is doing work in their home. His number is 347 935 2023.

I recently had a kitchen installed and have used this contractor before for much of the work you’re having done.  He’s also done major and minor renovations for friends.  We all think he’s the best.  Integrity and easy to work with.  Licensed and insured.  Mid-range pricing (the electrician and plumber will be expensive portions of your job.)  Call Ben Ligotti:  516-659-1052\.  Good luck!

Hi lilitrue, I recommed Julio Bonete of Bonete Renovation.  I own several apartments that are rentals and he does this type of work for me.  He does not have your typical documentation so be aware of that from the get go BUT he’s extremely talented and affordable.  If your co-op requires documentation from the contractor then count him out but if it does not – HE’S THE GUY ! We’ve recently completed a full gut renovation of a our kitchen and an adjoining bathroom in our 1901 townhouse.

We used Aaron Gruenberg (Green Mountain Construction and Design) from the Navy Yards to do similar work in Williamsburg. Not sure if he does everything on your list or not since but I think he specializes in kitchens and baths as well as other things.  He’s a great guy, did an excellent job, and was affordable.  Good luck!

I went with Casa Careri Home Designs for my 2 family home renovation project and I couldn’t be happier.  I found them here on the directory. They’re a small family run company and they cater to smaller projects.  They were resonably priced and did a great job.  Good luck with your reno project!
