Chimney Cleaning?

Hi all, Any recommendations for a reputable company to do a basic chimney cleaning? I have a new-ish boiler and a chimney that hasn’t been cleaned in a couple of years – any recommendations (or companies to avoid) appreciated!

Just be sure to read up on some of the scams that chimney sweepers (or people posing as them) try to pull. Some will over charges, claim your pipe or mortar needs replacing when it doesn’t etc. A good sweep shouldnt run you more than $125.00   http://chimneybrushes.org

we used A+A for chimney lining (that we did need) and liked the guys a lot.

I used A&A. They were fair and excellent. Another company came and tried to give me the whole “you need a $5,000 liner” spiel. Andre is an honest person, which is hard to find in that line of work.

You have a new-ish oil-fired boiler? Most people replacing boilers these days are going with gas, and if you have a gas boiler and it’s venting properly it’s unlikely you’d need a chimney cleaning. For cleaning of my old oil boiler and chimney, I used Ray & Son’s, 646-436-0278
