Best Sources of Fireplace Mantles, Vintage & New?

Originally started looking for vintage fireplace mantles via google searches and whatnot, and redirected search to new (but vintage-inspired) fireplace cos like Chesneys & Francois Co due to how expensive vintage mantles were.  Now we’re back to the drawing board as we still haven’t found something we really like and looking for suggestions for vendors, either:  – selling vintage fireplaces (stateside, or better yet tri-state area) 
– other companies like Chesneys or Francois & Co

What kind of mantle are you looking for? We bought a slate one with faux marble painting for $250 at Build It Green. We sold a mahogany one for $800 on Brownstoner. Manny LaSalle has many, including Italianate marble with arched tops.

Have you tried United House Wreckers in Stamford Ct.?  I haven’t been there in quite a few years but they used to carry a huge supply of such things.  It would be worth a phone call.
