Uninstalling Custom Shelves

see if the new owner likes them and is interested in buying them directly from you in place.  also, the only way to find out how much it will cost to remove and reinstall them is to get a quote from a contractor or handyman who will do the work for you.

Rather foolishly, we had custom shelves installed into a rental apartment. Much to our chagrin, the owner decided to sell our place 5 months into our lease. The owner is not interested in paying for the shelves and we spent a decent amount of money on them. They will fit in our new place, though we’ve yet to broach the possibility with the landlord, which we would obviously do first, having learned our lesson. They are 83″ wide and about 1.5 inches thick. Has anyone had experience with this? Does it do a great deal of harm to the walls? Will the cost of removing and reinstalling be worth the risk and hassle? Any insight would be very helpful.
