Staircase builder

We are considering a condo combination with the unit upstairs. Looking for reccomendations on a staircase builder. There is also a bathroom gut as part of the project and a bit of millwork. Open to someone who can do all of this or just the staircase portion. In terms of the staircase, our tastes are on the modern side, likely open tread (but kid safe), wood. Also curious to hear people’s thoughts on whether it’s best to have two specialists for this project, or one overall GC.

I can recommend NE&WS of Maspeth. They did a connecting interior stair for my duplex a few years ago and everything came out great. They have both an iron and wood shop so they can do any combination you like. http://www.neandws.com/

For a modern staircase, I suggest steel construction with wood treads.  We are working with the Lopopolo brothers for steel and our carpenters are installing the wood treads.
