exterior door guy?
southslope woodworks who advertises here. I wouldn’t call him cheap but I would say he delivers good value.

We need to replace the exterior door of a brownstone in a landmarked stretch of park slope, and don’t have the deepest of pockets. Any recommendations for a woodworker? Please help!

Are you sure this can’t be ordered from someplace? I always tell my customers “the only time we make doors is when we can not order one.” In any case, we make these all the time. The reason this kind of work is pricey is because it is time consuming, is higher skill set than other work, and the finishing must be flawless. It does not hurt to call me an talk though, Steve http://brownstoner.staging.wpengine.com/tinkerswagon

I ordered a door from a place in Maine because they had a great selection of “period” doors. It was stripped, filled and sanded, had bevel cut glass and the shipping and packing was about $400 or so.
Like this one from this place…
