Contractor no show for 2 weeks
What do you do if your contractor does not show up for 2 week? Also not returning any calls.

You could send him a certified letter demanding he return to the job by a specific date, or else you will seek legal action to recover costs and punitive damages caused by his delinquency. You could also contact the DCA – Department of Consumer Affairs which issues certain licenses for contractors.

We don’t owe him any money. What should I do if he does not show or call me next week? How do I get in contact with his subcontractors?

Do you owe him any money? For the fly by night guys, that’s usually the only incentive that motivates them. Read your contract as to the termination proceedure if this continues. You don’t want to just move on to someone else without taking the proper steps to protect yourself from a lien.
BTW, A reputable contractor can have other projects that are being worked on simultaneously, so you’d be in the same situation with the down time on your project. The difference would be that he would communicate that to you.
