Complaint on property reported to DOB

Someone filed a complaint to the DOB regarding my property. We were replacing the roof. The complaint is as follows 05 PERMIT – NONE (BUILDING/ PA/ DEMO ETC.) Compromised as of: NO BUILDING PERMIT : CONSTRUCTION The 25 days since the complaint was issued has come and gone. We are not living there and no work is being done for 3 weeks now. If DOB were to come by no one would be there. Does anyone know how long a complaint can stay open? If there is no work being done at present can a violation be put on? your advise and experience appreciated.

after 20 years of so they get written off. check to see if there is an ECB violation. you will need to go there to clear it up.

Not sure but I believe, unless you did a complete tear off, a permit is not required for a new roof surface.

I believe,based on a recent, similar post, the complaint will expire if DOB cannot gain access to the property. I do not recall the length of time that the complaint remains open or if it has to do with a certain number of attempts by DOB to access the property. The gist of the responses to the older post was, do not grant DOB access and the complaint will eventually be closed.
