Stoop and Parlor entry

I am looking to recreate the parlor floor entry for my Park Slope brownstone, which will involve building either a metalwork or masonry stairway, and a doorway/foyer area. Has anyone done this recently? Any thoughts or recommendations on budget, contractors, materials – anything? I am currently waiting on a permit from the building department. Thanks in advance!
