Recommendation for Grand Renovation?

Make sure you get at least 3 estimates, regardless of the recommendations.  Also walk through a “current” or “in progress” job / project that is similar to yours.  If they do not have a “in progress” job going on then delete them from your list.  A good GC is always working on several projects.  Make sure to talk to the actual clients of the project – either on site or over the phone (not email).  I had a GC once walk me through a job as if he was doing the full gut…turned out he was just doing a small portion of the work…I took his word for it (last time that happpened).  Contact number is 718.351.4099 or http://www.allrenovationllc.com I eventually went with All Renovation Construction, my job was a full brownstone gut renovation so it’s not similar to yours but All Renovation delivered a professional itemized estimate (other GC’s handed me a bulk price per floor) and were extremely attentive through out all phases of the project.  If you call them ask for Pietro or Robert, they are the owners.  Extremely nice people to work with which is rare to find. Has anyone used Grand Renovation, listed in the directory, for brownstone renovation jobs? Or can you recommend a GC? We are purchasing a landmark Bed-Stuy property that needs a mid-sized, all-around renovation, including some structural work. Thanks.

We highly recommend Grand Renovation. We have used them on both gut renovations we did to our Cobblehill townhouse (2001 & 2008). We were completely satisfied the first time and equally so the second time. They are very professional (as is their crew) and very budget conscience–both qualities we appreciated immensely. Grand is just finishing the gut renovation of our Windsor Terrace row house. They are fantastic! John Buchbinder has a fine arts background that gives him a prespective that _**far**_ exceeds the competition. As our project evolved, they offered various options for us to stay within budget. (Of course we chose the most expensive option every time, but it was great that they were up front about costs!). The crew and worksite is organized and efficient. We absolutely recommend them.
