Looking for a ornamental plaster molding(moulding) restoration and replication pro

Since 1998 I’ve been working full time for Evergreen Architectural Art Inc, sculpting, mold making, casting, installation. I’ve worked on many theaters on Broadway, Boston, Red House in Port of Spain. In 2006 I received an craftsmanship award for restoring the ornamental plaster of the Basilica of the Assumption in Baltimore. Hi all. It looks like that we need a very special plaster people with ornamental plaster restoration experience and sculpting skills.   We are about renovating walls and ceiling in the bedrooms and living room. Old ceiling and wall plaster has to be removed.  Old beautiful ornamental medallions, ornamental crown mouldings and friezes which we like very much have to be removed. They are already have a heavy moisture damage and some sculpture parts are missing. Also all this ornamental parts are buried under thick layer of old paint. We hired a team of flat plasterers for walls and ceiling. They advise us to  find  specialists who are skilled and are able to clean ornamental parts out of  paint, repair and intuitively rebuild/resculpt missing sculpture parts (they are different and not repeated) on a place (right on a ceiling), make molds-copies from everything ornamental, cast new ornamentals, run new crown moldings and install everything on the new walls and ceiling. Have somebody faced such kind of a challenge? Does anyone have a recommendation for someone who can help find the source of the moisture?

We faced the same challenges you did. Call Raul 305 494 2539 We got his number from this forum. We highly recommend him. I am not sure that he could find the source of the moisture but he does all of the other work you are looking for.

2 years ago we used restorator Alex, (646)467-3785\.  He and his crew of 2 helpers did a great job!!  All our original ornamental mouldings and medallions were cleaned out of old paint and restored nicely. And they did it surprazingly fast, neat and did’t charge too much. But first he  found the leak from outside wall, injected chemicals from outside for moisture mold deactivation and closed the seam. Yes, to find the source of the moisture is the imperative, unavoidable.
