good carpenter

anyone recommend a good carpenter for some interior work, and someone to do some outdoor work on the brick addition to my brownstone which is fallling apart.

Nick at Transcend, for sure. You’ll find contact info here (either search the forum or look for ads, which he usually posts).  He is a contractor with great carpenters–super reliable, all awesome, trustworthy, skilled guys.  And Nick is a real stand up guy.  Plus, he actually specializes in masonry (or used to before expanding to general contracting).  He has guys who specialize specifically in each.  Very fair prices, too.  Tell him the woman in the carriage house in Prospect Heights sent you!

We just finished both an outdoor and interior renovation and used this company, (unpronounceable that I nver heard of) AahmodiyaHi Home improvement aahmodiyahi@gmail.com (talk to Taz)
that my friend who has used them for years recommended. Seems mostly like a father/son, with father an expert brownstone renovator and mason, who did the whole back of our brownstone which was chipping, and very damaged by water, replaced our gutters, built a new cornice. The son, named Taz, is a skilled carpenter, plumber etc., and redid our bathroom. They have a license and were the least expensive estimate that we recieved, although we don’t usually go for the least expensive he came so highly reommended. We are  extremely happy with their work, prompt, friendly, honest and the best quality. What a find for us as our brownstone is in constant need of repair–Taz says he does small jobs, really small (like I called him to put up our address sign on the front of our brownstone,  and big ones.
