I have a fence that had finials and let a contractor take the last one to have it cast for a job he was doing across the way. a year of trying to get it back and no response. cant find it anywhere. does anyone know where to get them about 8 inches wide and 6 high. see picture. Any and all help would be appreciated. Will compensate one way or another. I would prefer not having to cast them. I have searched high and wide. They must be around somewhere made and on a shelf. Try at the scrap iron place behind Lowe’s. If you can’t find an exact match you might see something that works & have that made.

We are also missing our finials…they were gone when we bought the house. My husband and I recently decided to try to buy salvaged ones and we were shocked at the cost…$3k for a single finial, not even a matched pair. I’d sue your contractor for the replacement cost, but that’s just me.

If you cant find something suitable locally you could try Architectural Iron Company (AIC) in Milford PA. Years ago I designed the iron fence and gates surrounding the Jefferson Market Garden in Greenwich Village, replicating historic details from a fragment of original fence. The fence has flor de lis finials and decorative cutout patterns, and AIC did a great job fabricating everything. I’m sure they could cast the finials for you if they don’t have something in stock. By the way, the generous Brooke Astor paid for the fence!

The place behind Lowe’s (as mentioned above) is called “New York Old Iron”, and they have tons of old wrought iron fencing. There’s a strong likelihood you’ll find match there. And it’s pretty reasonable, too.
