c1885 Wooden Mantel for sale

We are restoring a Brownstone and we have to remove one of our Mantels. (I promise it’s just one and we’d rather keep it, long story). It’s an original, ornate 56×69 wooden mantel with mirror. We wanted to store it at the house but we unfortunately we can’t fit it down the cellar stairs. Does anyone know how/where we might sell it, please?

Locally in Brooklyn, Eddie Hibbert, salvage shop at Grand Ave and Greene Ave will buy this. Also Demolition Depot in Harlem or Old Good Things in Manhattan.

That’s a gorgeous mantel! I hope you find a good home for it. For my own curiosity, I’m researching Kilian Brothers mantels and how common they were in Brooklyn. When you remove the mantel, on the back side you’ll likely find a very brittle piece of paper that indicates the maker of the mantel, the builder/owner of the house, the room it’s intended for and also the type of wood used.
