Boiler Violation

Recently pruchased 2 family building with a DOB boiler violation. The seller had the violation dismissed recently after the sale to us, but will the DOB be sending an inspector out to the property to validate the dismissal?

just paid $2000 at DOB. It had a brand new boiler when I purchased the house last year. I just feel completely ripped off by this city. Why on earth penalize someone 10yrs later for a “violation” that has absolutely nothing to do with me….

I have the same problem, bought a property with old boiler violations. I spoke with the NYC Boiler Dept (212 566 4994) and they confirmed the only way to clear them is by paying the $500 fine per violation. Also, you can only do this if they have a current BO9 (annual boiler inspection by master plumber which confirms boiler is up to code). The annual deadline for submitting a BO9 is 11/15, but they extended to year end due to the storm. If you don’t have a current BO9, you need to get your boiler inspected in the next few days otherwise a new fine of $1,500 is incurred.   I’d like to communicate with you outside of this forum.
