Boiler Replacement - help!

Hello all – Last night our boiler blew (long sad story) and we need to get a new one. We’re trying to get a sense of what a fair price for a 4-part boiler would be. Also thinking of changing companies from Boro Fuel. Any suggestions on a good oil co? Thanks so much…

a mod con conversion is only feasible if the system is hydronic, not steam…if you decide to switch to gas, national grid has a reduced rate for a new boiler plus a rebate after the installation..problem is you need heat now, not in a couple of weeks

After we installed our mod-con boiler — modulating-condensing boiler, gas — our gas bill dropped by $100/mth, even though there were three more people, two more kitchens with gas stoves, and one more dryer, also gas. Look into it.

I would definitely switch to gas….much less maintenance…..no more worries about oil deliveries, oil prices, etc.

If you are getting a band new boiler why have you not considered a gas fired one?  As an added bonus to getting  a cleaner and (at least currently) cheaper operation with less maintenance, you also won’t have to find a new oil supplier.
