Looks nice. If our fireplace opening were bigger, I’d take it.

I’m interested.  We have 4 firepleaces that we uncovered for decorative purposes and want to finish them out.  Right now they are simply plaster all the way to the openings and we’d like to fit a frame against the plaster and not have to fill in behind them.  What are the width and height of the indented section that would recess into the fireplace opening?  Our fireplaces are all 26″ wide and 32-34″ tall, however the height is from the cement hearth slab which will be raised with the addition of a hearth stone, brick, tile-bed, etc, so the height isn’t as much of a concern as the recessed portion of the width that the frame would need to recess into.
