Artificially age brick
Does anyone have any advice to artifically age brick? I took a wall back to brick and my contractor ‘patched’ sections with new bricks. The difference is striking. Any Ideas?

Sandblasting could damage the bricks. Whitewash over all could help blend, you could go back and wipe of some of the wash so that most of the brick color showed through. If the bricks are the same type (texture size, etc.) you could spoge paint the new bricks to try to match the old, but your problem may be the bricks are a totally different type. If you can’t get it to look the way you want, you always have the option of re-plastering the wall.

if there wasn’t a lot of care in trying to match the brick then its going to be pretty tough. you could try to sandblast the whole wall and see if they resulting texture takes your eye away from the difference, there are chemical treatments as well. However, you could also consider some kind of semi-transparent whitewash if you like that look. (i personally do, and if the rick is that much of a mismatch perhaps you would like that better than drywall. Or have someone come in, remove the new bricks and try to match with old bricks from the same era / color.
