vibrating water pipes / need a plumber

Hey all  –  Looking for a plumber to figure out this problem were having in our 4 story house: Over the last 3 months were experiencing a water pipe that will randomly begin vibrating (starts low and builds up for about 5 or 10 secs) behind the wall between 1st floor and basement apt where theres a shared washer/dryer.  Its a slow vibrating not a hammer or knocking thing, and I believe its the cold water line. It seems to do it more when people in the house are using water, shutting faucets on and off etc.  Im reading this might be due to high water pressure and we may need a regulator to lower that..  Any advice on what this is, and recommendations on plumbers much appreciated. Hi, You need best service to repaire vibrating water pipes beacuse leaking pipe line can creates hassle and disturbance.  If problem is ignored for long time , it can cause more trouble and cost more money. Most of time valves inside the fixtures that control the vibration in plumbing.Have you checked valve of water pipe?
