Engineer to Check Foundation and Load Bearing walls.

I own a home in Red Hook that took in almost took in 2 foot of water on the top floor. The crawl space was completely submerged (up to subfloor of the first floor) for about 24 hours. I need an engineer to come in to look at my foundation. Also in the process of removing the soaked drywall from my first floor, i’ve been inspired to take down some walls. I’m looking for an engineer to verify wether or not the walls are load bearing. Because of the storm,  I am strained economically, I am looking for somebody who will work for a day rate or hourly. Thank you.

I use Andrew Goodrich, at (347) 787-3338, and he may be willing to help out on a site visit. Bear in mind, that removing walls, regardless of load bearing, requires permits for other reasons. Structural engineers as a group fabricate elaborate, expensive solutions that are most akin to a doctor ordering many tests to eliminate possible malpractice in the future. I would try to get 5 minutes with a Jimmy Buscarella type, who has more “hands on” savvy.
