Anyone ever dealt with A.J. Madison buying appliances?

Their website shows an incredible selection available and vey low prices, not to mention free shipping over $699 and no taxes if shipped out of state.  I need to buy a few air conditioners for shipment up to MA.  Anyone ever dealt with them? Good? Bad???  Thanks.

bob marvin: i had the same experience in the showroom….i was ready to spend thousands of dollars on all new appliance for my kitchen reno and was completely ignored by everyone in there…thought maybe it was becasue i was a woman in a hsasidic business but who knows.

i have used them a few times for appliances i ordered online i noticed they were located in Brooklyn so i went there to see the place was not that impressed with the showroom/call center (won’t be going back there), the selection was ok i guess but nothing like the online selection. noticed everyone working there looked to be hasidic so they do not do business on a lot of holidays I will use them again for ordering online – one of the best things about their site is it has the best search and sorting options – (eg. list refrigerators by bottom drawer freezer, smaller than 32″ wide, taller than x”) ALso the website often has links to the specifications pdf or manual for those of us (time wasters) who research every detail for months before making a purchase

My wife and I TRIED to buy a gas range from AJ Madison a couple of years ago. They have a very attractive showroom so  it seemed like they would welcome in-person sales, but we couldn’t get any AJM employees to acknowlege our presense. We left and would never buy anything from this company. On-line orders are probably different, but their are MANY complaints, so I’d suggest doing due dilligence before ordering from AJM. BTW, we found that EBA Appliance’s prices are considerably lower than AJM’s and, I’d imagine, any company wouldn’t charge in-state taxes for out of state shipment.
