Cast Iron Radiator Damage to Floors
I have cast-iron radiators in my home. I just removed them to get them sandblasted, primed and painted but I noticed there are now scratches and dings in my hardwood floor where each of the four feet rest.
Are there any feet pads I could use to prevent any more damage to my floors? I tried Home Depot but they only have plastic ones. They are cast-iron so they do get really hot. I’m thinking a antique brass finish since my escutcheons are the same. See link.

Any websites or stores would be helpful. Thanks.

The scratches probably occurred when they were installed or removed. I would just sand smooth, stain, seal the scratches and then reseat the radiators carel. May I ask who is doing your sandblasting and painting? I need the same thing done. Thanks.

You can put very thin strips of wood with a piece felt between it and the floor. No problem so long as it doesn’t raise the radiator nipple above the level of the steam valve union. And cmu, try to be nice….

This is a joke post, right? Do your radiators dance at night? How do you get scratches and dings from unmoving 200lb hunks of iron?
If you’re really that anal, you have the answer in your link… cover up those horrendous blemishes!
