Cast iron coal fireplace insert

Hi everyone! We are doing a renovation and unfortunately don’t have room for the old cast iron coal fireplace insert that came with the house.  The pictures may not do justice to this, but it’s in really good condition and quite beautiful.  (The first pic is a bit dark and hard to see (prerenovation) and the second shows lots of dust on it (during renovation)…)  Does anyone have any idea of where I can get a sense of value for this if we decided to sell it?  I called a couple of places and frankly, they seemed to think I was talking about what looks like a iron shield that covers the fireplace opening and didn’t stay on the phone long enough to hear that this might be something different.  🙂  I would appreciate any advice or guidance. Thanks!

Hi reb202, nice old cast iron insert. The name may be “Golden Bride” but not sure of who or where it was manufactored. I am trying to find a small insert for my living room I heat with coal with a stove in the basement so if you can use it you will love it!

Hi. You have a really nice coal burning insert I have two of these and yours is a beauty. Can you see a company name and model number. These will help identify it. There are MANY folks that are very familiar with antique stoves.

No advice, but it sure is cool looking.  Looks like it could be a headlamp for the Nautilus from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.  If you advertise it, bill it as “Steampunk”
