Stainless steel cable railings for interior staircase

Does anyone know – are stainless steel cable railings permitted on interior staircases in Brooklyn? Or would that be a code violation?

We’ve used them without any issues. Do be aware that code restricts any gap between balusters or cables to 4″ or less. With a cable railing, there’s always some play in the cables, so you’ll need to space the cables so that when you pull them apart, there is less than 4″ between cables.
