Staining a Deck
I used a Cabot’s stain years ago that was formulated especially for PT. It was oil base, not water so I’m not sure it’s even made nymore or sold in New York. There are a lot of solid stains out there that work very well. If the cedar fence will remain a deep brown, you can certainly get stains for the PT to get close to that.

I recently had a deck installed, which is made of pressure treated pine. I want to match it to a cedar fence, which also was recently installed. The cedar fence has been treated with a clear coat of Thompson’s. The deck installer recommended a solid stain. I would greatly appreciate any advice on this topic. Thanks very much.
