You need a roofer, otherwise you will have not recourse if the roof leaks.

I need to install a new skylight and am having a real hard time finding someone to do it. The only authorized Velux installer is Solar Illuminations for our area and he isn’t even Brooklyn, and doesn’t respond to emails/calls after an initial conversation. Does anyone have someone they can recommend? Thanks, Barton in Bklyn

I had my skylights installed by a roofer (who is now retired). One of them involved reframing part of the roof so I think any competent roofer could do it. You didn’t ask but of the 5 skylights I have, one of them is a Velux and it is the only one that has leaked. The leak was between the glass and the frame so definitely a Velux quality issue.
