Reclaimed Wood Flooring - Where to buy?

All of the above sound great. Moon River Chattel in Williamsburg also carries reclaimed flooring. Lots of different types, not sure how wide it goes. About $11 for a cubic foot, if I remember correctly.

HI I am an interior designer working on the design of a brownstone. For the parlor floor we want to install wide plank reclaimed wood flooring. Are there trusted, reliable sources you’d recommend? Also, what should I be looking for/be careful of/ need to know? I’ve never specified this before so all information is appreciated. Thanks! Sara

I’ve used Carlisle wide plank flooring. They have all types of wood flooring and will send you samples. They are a little pricey but their products and customer service are great. Good luck with your project! http://www.wideplankflooring.com/

I bought my reclaimed flooring from these guys — it took a little longer, but they were MUCH cheaper than places around the city, even factoring in the $750 delivery fee: Asheville Architectural Salvage & Antique Lumber 828-273-4211 828-659-9062 www.ashevillearchitectural.com

A terrific source for remilled / reclaimed flooring is Pioneer Millworks. They are in upstate NY and are the sister company to a builder of post-and-beam houses (New Energy Works). Very eco conscious and a mid-size business worth supporting. I bought beautiful douglas fir and heart pine flooring from them 15 years ago which is holding up perfectly. however I’m not sure how wide their planking goes.
