Permit to remove concrete from backyard?

Our backyard is poured concrete and we would like to remove it, which will surely involve some level of jackhammering. Dumpster situation/hauling aside, does anyone know if a permit is required just to remove the concrete? No, we would not be doing this ourselves and yes, we would do it during normal working hours. I can’t find anything about removing concrete on the DOB website, only when you’re adding concrete…

I haven’t had a dumpster for a while but last time I did, the permit was more hassle than the fine – which wasn’t levied on me anyway.

Assuming you are not touching your foundation or other structural features, I don’t believe you would need a permit. Dumpsters need permit. That’s why we normally use some one who pulls up, loads up, and pulls away. Sometimes they lower the container to the street, we fill it and they lift it back up, without ever detaching the winch. I guess it’s one of our old timers tricks. From when our backs were strong(but we had no smart phones)
