How can it be there is hardly a single gym in Fort Green/Clinton Hill?

There was a gym on Waverly between Fulton and Atlantic for a while. Closed about 5 years ago (maybe longer?). I like the Y, but I go off hours. I would imagine it is quite crowded in the evening.

Crunch on Fulton. Its like a long block from Fort Greene Park. Then the YMCA in West Bed Stuy. Lets face it, health clubs are not a huge thing in Brooklyn. Even in Park Slope they are only a few (its a yoga town), with the YMCA taking the lions share. Pratt Students aren’t exactly a model workout crowd. Population density doesn’t help, which prob explains why they focus in downtown brooklyn on the before/lunch/after work business. I think the Crunch on Fulton was prob the best idea for FG. Maybe there is room for a planet fitness somewhere else in there, but i would have a hard time seeing a major between Crunch and YMCA.
