Helical Piles for 4 Story Addition to Brownstone
250k is way overboard. I’d encourage you to contact Adam Musgrave at Shore Systems Group. Good guy, good service, good pricing. NOT 250k.

Here’s a blurb on the technical details of how a 4 story addition to a browstone will be constructed on very poor soil conditions: [agenciegroup.com/townhouse-addition](http://agenciegroup.com/townhouse-structural-engineer/) Best, aC

i think i saw someone on one of the TV home reno shows use something similar for backyard deck piers. OK i just did a two second google and it was Mike Holmes using Techno Metal Post’s helical pile. Good stuff AnArchitect. At what point do you use these vs traditional solutions?

These were used at this site because the existing structure settled 13″ from the front of the house to the back..a huge amount. We were looking into possible explanations for such significant settlement and had 2 thesis: a)The larger adjacent building, built in the 1860s, underpinned our foundation and in doing so created some of the settling b)the soil must weaken as we moved further into what was previously the Hudson River. The Geotech Report confirmed the second thesis. On why we used Helical Piers, instead of Micropiles or another pile type…it came down to cost. Helical piers require smaller vehicles for installation and mobilization expenses where much lower, almost 50%, than any other pile foundation type. Can’t beat getting the same performance for that much lower an expense. Best-aC

Neighbors contractor damaged our 100+ year old rubble stone foundation Brooklyn row house 20 feet wide atached on both sides
Geotechnical report indicates subsurface soil movement pulled away from house when neighbor installed deep basement. Had boring tests done. Hired an engineer who then died before we could get full report .
What system is possible for repairs in mid block row house where everything has to come in through front door? We talked about helical piles. Concrete pile caps Grout pumped down under pressure
Very rough estimate, what does something like this cost? Greater than ,,,,$250,000?
