Free Honeywell Con Edison Thermostat

I just signed up for this program and figured I share the information. Con Edison has partented with Honeywell to provide free smart Thermostats (installation included) to homes with central heating and cooling. The one catch I did notice is “he thermostat also helps us reduce energy consumption during periods of high energy use by making brief adjustments to your air conditioning setting. These adjustments occur only in the summer when we all want reliable energy service. We got an $85 check a few weeks ago from ConEd for having a Nest thermostat (which we installed ourselves a few years ago) and enrolling in their “rush hour rewards” program for energy conservation during peak times. Info on the program is here: https://nest.com/energy-partners/coned/

I have a 3 family home. Maybe that qualified me as a small business. None of the setup question or subsequent appointment confirmation call requested small business confirmation.
