Fixing a sidewalk violation

Let the City do the repair and you avoid the hassle of a permit, dealing with the Parks Dept and the possibility that the City will disapprove of the work. And the City picks up the cost of sidewalk damaged by tree roots. A contractor is now in the process of finishing a contract in Flatbush for 200,000 sf of sidewalk for $10.08 a square foot. The homeowner is billed and if the bill is not paid a lien is placed on the property.

Bought a house with a sidewalk violation. I am a looking for a contractor to fix the uneven sidewalk possibly caused by tree roots. Want to fix ASAP. Recommendations for contractor? If tree roots are involved, does that mean involving the Parks Dept? If curb needs adjusting, is there another city agency we have to notify? Thank you for any input.
