cost and difficulty of cutting a hole for a new window in circa 1900 rowhouse
It is not that big of a deal. Unless you are Landmarked or in a Landmarked district…

Hi Forum, This may seem academic in most Brooklyn neighborhoods (unless your name is Norah Jones and you want to pick a fight) but Bay Ridge, where I’m looking to buy, offers this opportunity quite a bit, because of its mix of rowhouses and detached and semi-detached houses. So if you nail the last rowhouse in a row one of your lateral exterior walls will border a driveway. Also, only a few blocks are landmarked. So it’s doable. Does anybody have experience with this kind of project? Is it impossible permit-wise or cost-wise? Or structurally unsound? Thanks for any input.
