Boiler replacement -- permit

Long story short, our house has an open permit stemming from its renovation that we may or may not want to deal with closing in the immediate future. But we would like to change our boiler from oil to gas. Can we get a permit to do that without being forced to close out the existing permit? (The stuff we have to do does not directly relate to the boiler.) Thanks.

if you do not have stop work order you can. if you have stop work order, then probably posting bond will allow you to proceed. if there are pending fines then you need to pay or post bond.
