Boerum Hill Safe for Family? On Warren btw Nevins & Bond

I have a similar question to this. I’m looking at a place on Nevins and Pacific. Anyone else have thoughts on safety in the area? I’m mostly curious about how people in the area feel, particularly in reference to my girlfriend walking alone after dusk.

We love brooklyn. Lived in B Hts, now in For Greene and looking to buy on Warren on this block. It ‘seems’ nice, of course with eyes wide open given it’s location, but looking for better knowledge of neighborhood from those who live there. We have a little 5 yr old girl who’ll be going to school in Manhatten so it’s not about local schools, just about whether safe and good for our small family. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

The Trulia crime map is a pretty OK resource to get a basic idea of what might be going on in the area. I don’t live in Boerum Hill though, so perhaps others that do can verify or provide their own view on things. http://www.trulia.com/real_estate/Brooklyn-New_York/crime/

thanks very much. we talked to cops in the housing projects as well as neighbors on the street and the latter were much more supportive of the areas though i appreciate the candidness of the officers. we’re feeling good about the street compared to Green in Bed-Stuy.
