soap scum is just as bad as grease. baking soda with vinegar, followed with a big shot of hot water, will help keep pipes et a clear. Get a drain guy to clear it out and them keep it maintained.

My goodness. Don’t put drano or grease in the drain. You don’t need a licensed plumber, a handyman with a $10 off-the-shelf drain snake will likely be able to clear the line.

Never put grease down a drain regardless of adding hot water. Somewhere in the pipe it’ll cool, congeal and block.

If you mix grease w/ very hot water & dishwashing liquid it helps.

I recently had my sewer line professionally snaked for the same reason. Tub and toilet on garden floor wasn’t draining. They recommend you do it once a year. It’s $50 per drain and I had to do it 3 times so ended up being $150 plus tax. Once out to the street and twice up into the house. There was a blockage of grease and hair. Make sure you don’t pour cooking grease down the kitchen sink.

Most likely it’s a build up of hair and gunk that isn’t letting the water through. Take a clothes wire hanger cut a 10 inch piece out of it and bend one end into a hook. Remove the drain stop/plug and pull out the blockage.
