don’t yet know who i;m using. unfortunately, not one sewer contractor or plumber can answer all of my simple questions. am quite disapointed.

hi plumbers and homeowners, after flooding and amidst plans to replace my garden level slab, it is time to install a backwater preventer. i have heard that the traditional and common design with the one-way flipping door sometimes can get stuck in the open position and cause bigger problems. a plumber who visited my home suggested the design at the link below, claiming it is much more reliable. any experience with it? please advise. much appreciated. btw-the unit below was quoted as $3,800 including installation (breaking slab and attaching, but not framing out with diamond plate, because we will remove the rest of the slab this winter) http://www.jrsmith.com/product.aspx?ProductId=362&title=Flood-Gate®+Automatic+Backwater+Valve

Where is the water flowing back from? Maybe it’s time to fix the plumbing in general 😉

During heavy rains, it comes up through the two tubs.

I have one in my house, though it was installed by the prior owner. Seems to work, though I am having some problems with it now getting stuck closed. Who are using to do the installation? I am looking for people in the neighborhood who are familiar with them. Thanks.
