Average wait time for Alt-1 on Commercial Property.

I’m in the process of renting a commercial space that needs to have the Certificate of Occupancy changed. I’m filing an Alt-1 due to this C of O change and would like to know the average wait time in Brooklyn. Any recent experience would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

We are trying to open an Event Venue at the location which requires the C of O to be changed to Eating and Drinking Establishment. Hired an Architect who seems to be knowledgeable but the horror stories about the Brooklyn DOB are terrifying.

I don’t know if this is any help. When I opened a bar many years ago, I needed a C of O to get the liquor license. I went to the buildings department and got a “Letter of no objection” and at that time it was accepted by the SLA

It depends on the experience of the architect/expediter and the use/zoning etc. If you try to be cheap, it will cost you in time. Do your homework to find an architect that specializes in your use. Especially if you are wanting a Bar/Restaurant.
