This question would raise eyebrows in the suburbs. You don't know what Timbertech is like? Timbertech is much more maintenance free. The material is uniform, and goes all the way thru, so you can pressure wash etc. It is no stronger than wood, so it can be decking or hand rail, but not structural. I guess the con part of the equation is its unnaturalness? How to compare Corian to stone? A technical miracle yes, but somewhat erzats.

Does a Roof Deck Count Toward FAR?So sorry, but it is very likely that you way overpaid. An hours worth of sending a detailed proposal / drawings to shops in queens, NJ and long island would have likely saved you 50%.
Deck RecommendationComposite manufacturers come and go...they usually go because of class action lawsuits against them for faulty products. Even Trex, the original composite, has had 2 or 3 class actions because of black mold and crumbling. Google around, and you will read some horror stories. What man makes, man can screw up. Ipe is about as maintenance free as a decking material can be. If you do choose a composite, you will probably have to set some new joists because most or all composites require a joist spacing of 12" OC. steve
