Hello,

We are thinking about installing a Myson Whispa lll or Beacon/Morris kickspace hydronic (hot water) heater in our kitchen (12 x 11), as part of our renovation.

Is anyone familiar with this type of product and what are the pluses and minuses? How loud is the fan and over time does the fan become louder?

We are removing the cast iron radiator in our kitchen (to free up some wall space), but we are not interested in installing radiant floor heat.
Our plumber suggested this option, because it is installed under the base cabinet and we would be able to pick up the water line from the old radiator location.
Curious to hear your thoughts.

Thank you very much

  1. We have one under the kitchen sink with an access panel for any maintenance. The fan is quiet but you can hear it when it’s on… which I like because it tells me the heat is on.

  2. True about the big rooms, but if it is in a brownstone or other townhouse with attached houses on both sides, and is in the middle, it doesn’t need much heat. Many of the floors in such buildings just have radiators and risers on the front and back walls by the windows. Sure, the places get cold, but I find it is the rooms with the radiators and the windows, not the otherwise unheated internal rooms, that get cold.

  3. I sell both brands. Both are very good and not too much difference in quality. The Myson Whispa II has a easy install kit that you can get. I have one customer that loves the Mysons. The Beacon Morris are tried and true over the years. So basically whichever brand you choose you’ll be doing o.k.
Just keep in mind these aren’t meant for you primary heating of a room. If the room is small you might get away with heating the room. If it’s a big room, you might not.
