Living/Green Wall
Thinking about creating a outdoor living wall against a concrete wall that separates my property and the condo next door. Has anybody done this or can recommend a contractor who does this kind of work? Thanks!

I’m a landscape designer. I have been plying with living walls for close to 20 years. Wooly pockets were the only material for a long time. They work ok for interior situation, but are impractical for outside. They don’t hold enough soil for perennials to overwinter.
Finally one of my suppliers brought in a living wall system designed for our climate. Its made out of plastic, it has a self watering irrigation system built right in. There is a reservoir and the bottom to collect all the excess water and then recirculate it back to the plants when they need it. Its an interlocking system so you can make it as tall or as wide as you want. I cant say enough good things about it.
I tried attaching a picture, but obviously failed. If you need more info call me or email me.

Good luck!
I’ve seen these cool things called Wooly Pockets… http://www.woollypocket.com/
That’s a beautiful wall in the picture. Makes me wonder why anyone would look at a bare wall when one could have this (or some approximation, depending on sunlight and climate.)
Try Alive Structures. They’re in the corn exchange building on Flatbush.
Try Folia Gardens 917-544-3415. They’ve done this kind of project before.
