I’m looking for a CSA farm that delivers to Brooklyn. Is it wishful thinking to think there might be one who delivers to Crown Heights? Is anyone a member of a CSA that they recommend?

Many thanks.

  1. Stencil,

Most CSA’s have a bi-weekly (“half-share”) that is good for couples singles. Even though its half the food, its still a fair amount of food. Best for someone who is a real veggie eater/cook.

This will be my third year as a CSA’er and I split a full share with friends (half for my husband and I) and a quarter each to two single girls. I know even split that way, sometimes we just werent able to get through all the produce, esp on busy weeks!

Love the csa though and highly recommend!

  2. The CSA’s in Brooklyn don’t deliver to your house. You go to a site and pickup. And yes, its very late to join. At this point, may not be a lot of space.

You can use this website to locate your local one:

  3. The time to join is usually Jan or Feb though.

There are also new food coops in Bushwick and Clinton Hill.

  4. Many CSAs in Brooklyn, including Bed Stuy, Williamsburg, Bushwick, and East New York. Google.
