Wow, that is one big amount to pay for property title charges! If I were you, you should have conducted your own land title search online. It is possible nowadays, you know. For a minimal cost (as in, so very cheap!) you will have full access to the secure database and be able to conduct your own background check.

Are you sure that you are not counting the Mortgage Recording Tax in that figure? Without knowing the purchase price it’s impossible to tell what is reasonable or not.
The new GFE’s (as of 2010) are horrible and lump certain fees together. Those idiots in Washington DC think they are helping people but they are just making things much more confusing.

On a purchase of 1.8mil $9323 in title charges closing costs sounds about right. The bulk of the sum collected by the title company is usually the cost of insuring the title. Title insurance is required if you are financing the deal and smart to pay anyway if you are paying cash.
