I have two rental apartments where the tenants can hear each other on a regular basis. I have researched having blown in insulation placed in the wall between the two apartments. However, I haven’t been able to find a company in Brooklyn that can keep an appointment to provide an estimate. Does anyone have any recommendations for a reliable and reasonable contractor that can do this?

  1. In reality, the gyspum board of the wall provides better soundproofing than any type of insulation material. Your best bet is to remove the sheetrock and install a soundproofing membrane as opposed to blowing anything in.

  2. It doesn’t sound like an insulation issue to me.
You do want soundproofing. Above link or,
Go to Kamco (off 3rd Ave and ?17th Street vicicinity) -and they shold be able to help you as well.
One of my neighbors is a sound engineer. If you don’t get the help you need from either the store or the link above, please repost and I’ll reach out to him on your behalf.
He gave me the name of a product which I used– and was really happy with.
