I live near a city college and have been living with noise on the weekends off and on for months. We understand that this is a NYS Dormitory Authority project and that weekend permits and after hours work permits are not issued by the NYC Dept of Buildings, but by perhaps the NYS Dept of Labor. Does anyone have experience complaining about after hours and weekend permits for CUNY projects? I’m at a loss.
311 says they can’t take noise complaints about work being done on a state project if you can believe it!
We did check for a noise mitigation plan. There was none posted but we can’t seem to figure out who to complain to about that as well, but thanks for the reminder to follow up on that as well.
Check construction fence for “noise mitigation plans” required by law. Afterhours complaints will get you nowhere.
