I have an 84×30″ doorway where I want to install a folding (bifold or accordion type) door.

Anyone have any ideas? Home Depot/Lowe’s only seem to have standard 80×30.

  1. I’m not sure what your budget is, but if you’re willing to spend the money you could try Nana-wall. They do custom accordion style doors for residential and commercial applications. I’ve used them before on a few projects (I’m and architect/interior designer) and my client’s are always happy with the product. Here is the link to their website:

  2. 84″ is a stock door for some suppliers (not HD and lowes; not sure about metro). Dykes may be able to get you an 84″, but in limited styles. I can get them. call me an I will give you the name of my supplier.

  3. Or you could just bring the hight of your opening down 4″ and go with a stock door.

  4. you can easily make your own — you buy 2 custom sized panels (Metropolitan Lumber is a good source), then buy hinges and bifold door hardware (try johnsonhardware.com) and assemble
